Arizona Elk Society Announces Special “Elk Hunting Clinic” Scheduled for August 19 in Phoenix, Arizona

Professionals to teach a wide variety of insightful clinics on how to develop the same hunting skills and strategies that experts use every year for successful elk hunts

Phoenix, Ariz., August 1, 2006 – The Arizona Elk Society (www.arizonaelksociety.org), a leading Arizona wildlife and habitat conservation organization, announced today a special Elk Hunting Clinic that will provide guidance on a number of professional hunting techniques and strategies used to successfully hunt elk year after year in Arizona. Attendees will learn how to discover elk feeding areas, watering sources and bedding areas; locate elk herds and define their daily travel patterns; plus plan effective hunting strategies for finding, calling and taking home trophy elk.

The Elk Hunting Clinic will be held on August 19 from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. Doors open at 8 am at the El Zaribah Shriner’s Auditorium located at 552 N. 40th St., Phoenix, AZ 85008 (a map is available at: http://maps.citysearch.com/location/1625840?)

Tickets are available on first come, first serve basis. Seating is limited and will sell out quickly. Attendees can reserve a seat by purchasing advanced tickets, which can be purchased by calling Kathi at (480) 882-9477.

The cost for attendance is $25 for adults and $15 for youths under 17, which includes a free lunch. Attendees who join the Arizona Elk Society at the Clinic will be able to discount their membership $10 adults and $5 youth.

Featured speakers include:

J.R. Keller, Professional Hunter and Elk Caller Keller is a professional elk caller who has won numerous national calling contests including the 2000 Colorado Western Slope Elk Competitions and will be presenting a special elk calling seminar. Keller currently works for Hunter's Specialties' Pro Staff.

Steve Chappell, Professional Guide and Outfitter Chappell is an experienced elk guide and Pro Staffer with Primos Game Calls and will explain different calling and set-up techniques utilizing personal videos of actual hunts.

Join Experts from the Arizona Department of Game and Fish, special guest speaker Steve Chappell, of Primos Game Calls and guest speaker J.R. Keller, of Hunter's Specialties' Pro Staff. Attendees will learn what makes the North American Elk (Wapiti) such a majestic animal, understand their behaviors and habits, as well as get a preview of popular hunting techniques such field judging elk, elk calling, and quick set ups that will make anyone who attends a more knowledgeable and successful elk hunter. This will be a day to remember, so don't miss out!

Both experienced and novice hunters have only a short time left to register for the Elk Hunting Clinic by the Arizona Elk Society. Elk hunting vendors will be on hand for free samples and the latest information on elk hunting products and services.
