Marketing Corporate LogosThe purpose of a corporate logo is to provide customers with a mental image that will be easy for them to remember and associate with your company's products and services. When people see your logo, they should be able to understand exactly what kinds of products and services you sell or at least what industry your are in. For example, please review the following corporate logos. We'll say that you are coffee shop operator that is looking to add a Wi-Fi Hotspot to provide free high-speed Internet access for your customers.
If you were scrolling down a list of companies looking for a wireless hotspot provider, which logo would you click on?? Unless you know who Cognio is, you would never know what business they were in and you would probably never remember their company name. On the other hand, the Boldstreet logo says it all. The logo contains the name of the company as well as the primary service they provide for their customers. The easier you make it for people to understand what your company name is and what business your are in, the easier it will be for them to remember your logo and associate it with your products and services. Even if they are not in the market for a wireless hotspot now, if the subject comes up during a business discussion a month from now, the chances that they will remember the company name and logo are pretty good. An easy exercise when creating logos is to show a new logo to someone you do not know and ask them what business they think the company is in. If you have to explain or give them hints, your logo needs help.
